Senior Center offers free membership through Renew Active™ program

The Iowa City/Johnson County Senior Center is now a participating location for Renew Active™, a program designed to help UnitedHealthcare Medicare Advantage plan members meet their fitness-related goals.

The Renew Active™ program provides eligible members access to The Center at no cost. Eligible plan members will have access to all the services and privileges that are normally a part of The Center’s standard annual membership, including access to the dedicated fitness areas, computer lab, painting studio and billiards room, plus the ability to enroll and participate in The Center’s diverse programming featuring classes in fitness and movement, health and wellness, liberal arts and sciences, and life and leisure categories.

To take advantage of this free membership opportunity, you will need to provide The Center with your Renew Active™ Confirmation Code. You can obtain your Confirmation Code by visiting myrenewactive.com and selecting “Get My Confirmation Code,” or The Center’s receptionist can assist you with this task. The Center will receive a payment from UnitedHealthcare each time a Renew Active™ member checks-in to utilize services at the facility. Revenue from this program will be used to support The Center’s operational expenses. Current members are also encouraged to utilize the program.

The Center is located in Downtown Iowa City at 28 South Linn Street and welcomes anyone age 50 and above to become a member.

To find out if you are eligible for this program, simply call your health plan’s toll-free customer service number on the back of your member ID card. Only plan holders of an eligible Medicare Advantage Plan insured by UnitedHealthcare Insurance Company in participating states can use the Renew Active™ Program.
